1. Research Nurse of the Year
This category provides the opportunity to recognise an outstanding contribution by a research nurse in the North Thames region.
There may be a particular outstanding achievement, an exceptional contribution toward efficiency and effectiveness of operations, special efforts in promoting portfolio research or outstanding service to the research community.
2. Research Midwife of the Year
This category provides the opportunity to recognise an outstanding contribution by a research midwife in the North Thames region.
There may be a particular outstanding achievement, an exceptional contribution toward efficiency and effectiveness of operations, special efforts in promoting portfolio research or outstanding service to the research community.
3. Principal Investigator (PI) of the year
This category provides the opportunity to recognise an outstanding contribution by a Principal Investigator (PI) in the North Thames region.
There may be a particular outstanding achievement, an exceptional contribution toward efficiency and effectiveness of operations, special efforts in promoting portfolio research or outstanding service to the research community.
4. Allied Health Professional of the year
This category provides the opportunity to recognise an outstanding contribution by a AHP (as defined by NHS England) in the North Thames region.
There may be a particular outstanding achievement, an exceptional contribution toward efficiency and effectiveness of operations, special efforts in promoting portfolio research or outstanding service to the research community.
5. Data Manager of the Year
This category provides the opportunity to recognise an outstanding contribution by a data manager in the North Thames region.
There may be a particular outstanding achievement, an exceptional contribution toward efficiency and effectiveness of operations, special efforts in promoting portfolio research or outstanding service to the research community.
6. Clinical Research Practitioner (CRP) of the Year
This category provides the opportunity to recognise an outstanding contribution by a registered CRP in the North Thames region.
There may be a particular outstanding achievement, an exceptional contribution toward efficiency and effectiveness of operations, special efforts in promoting portfolio research or outstanding service to the research community.
7. NIHR Associate PI of the year
This category provides the opportunity to recognise an outstanding contribution by an Associate PI in the North Thames region.
There may be a particular outstanding achievement, an exceptional contribution toward efficiency and effectiveness of operations, special efforts in promoting portfolio research or outstanding service to the research community.
8. Chief Investigator of the year
This category provides the opportunity to recognise an outstanding contribution by an Chief Invesigator in the North Thames region.

9. Lifetime Achievement Award
This award recognises and celebrates exceptional and sustained contributions in a research career

10. R&D Office of the Year
This category provides the opportunity to recognise an outstanding contribution by a research & delivery department in the North Thames region. The R&D team has really gone above and beyond what would normally be expected of them in order to achieve outstanding results. There may be a particular outstanding achievement, an exceptional contribution toward efficiency and effectiveness of operations, special efforts in promoting portfolio research or outstanding service to the research community.
11. Outstanding Achievement by a Team
This category provides the opportunity to recognise an outstanding contribution by a team (could be pharmacy, radiology, clinical teams) in the North Thames region. The team has really gone above and beyond what would normally be expected of them in order to achieve outstanding results. There may be a particular outstanding achievement, an exceptional contribution toward efficiency and effectiveness of operations, special efforts in promoting portfolio research or outstanding service to the research community.
12. Exceptional Performance in Commercial Research Delivery
This category provides the opportunity to recognise an outstanding contribution by a research team in the North Thames region. The R&D team has really gone above and beyond what would normally be expected of them in order to achieve outstanding results. There may be a particular outstanding achievement, an exceptional contribution toward efficiency and effectiveness of operations, special efforts in promoting portfolio research or outstanding service to the research community.
13. Primary Care Award
This category provides the opportunity to recognise an outstanding contribution by a primary care team based supporting general practice in the North Thames region. The team has really gone above and beyond what would normally be expected of them in order to achieve outstanding results. There may be a particular outstanding achievement, an exceptional contribution toward efficiency and effectiveness of operations, special efforts in promoting portfolio research or outstanding service to the research community.
14. Community Award for engagement
This category provides the opportunity to recognise an outstanding contribution by a research team in the North Thames region. It may be a team that has really gone above and beyond what would normally be expected of them in order to achieve outstanding results. There may be a particular outstanding achievement, an exceptional contribution toward the efficiency and effectiveness of operations, special efforts in promoting portfolio research or outstanding service to the research community.
15. Digital Innovation Award
This category provides the opportunity to recognise an outstanding contribution through digital innovation. It may be a team or person who has created a digital innovation to support a research project(s), to promote research, to address an un-met need or to improve outcomes. There are no restrictions on the type of digital innovation that we are looking to award.
16. Mental Health sector outstanding achievement
This category provides the opportunity to recognise an outstanding contribution by a Mental Health research team in the North Thames region. The team has really gone above and beyond in delivering better services, empowering service users to put them at the centre of care, engaging the community. There may be a particular outstanding achievement, an exceptional contribution toward the efficiency and effectiveness of operations, special efforts in promoting portfolio research or outstanding service to the mental health community.
17. Innovation in Reducing health Inequalities Award
This award recognises innovative and creative initiatives which aim to promote research for under served communities at a local level. Award entries should have a focus on the under-served communities and examples include drug & alcohol dependence, vulnerable migrants, Roma and Traveller communities, ethnic minorities groups.
18. Excellence in PPIE
This award recognises successful Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) work that is happening across our region. Has a team or study recruited to a trial through proactive engagement outside usual methods, or worked with the public to ensure previously disengaged communities are more aware of research? This category’s aim is to recognise people who ensure our research is being carried out ‘with’ or ‘by’ members of the public - rather than ‘to’, ‘about’ or ‘for’ them.
