Agile Research Delivery Team and support for wider care settings

Agile Research Delivery Team

Our Agile Research Delivery Team is a group of dedicated staff based in our Regional Research Delivery Networks (RRDNs) across England. They are skilled, multi-disciplinary staff who can work flexibly across a variety of different locations to support research delivery in health and social care.

Our regional teams can support studies at various stages as needed. Examples include:

  • supporting the set-up of research
  • helping with screening
  • taking consent from participants
  • recruitment to studies
  • data management and follow-up

If you are interested in accessing the support of our Agile Research Delivery Team, please contact your local RRDN.

Dedicated support for out-of-hospital settings

One of our key aims is to ensure that everyone across the country has the opportunity to take part in research that might be suitable for them. Delivering health and social care research in places where people already access a wide variety of services, helps us to do that.
Through our flexible and multi-disciplinary study support and Agile Research Delivery Team, we can help you deliver research in a wide range of settings.
These include:

  • GP surgeries
  • hospices
  • care homes
  • sheltered accommodation
  • schools
  • community hubs
  • places of worship
  • prisons
  • people’s homes

Enabling research in care homes

Our Enabling Research in Care Homes (ENRICH) network facilitates and supports the delivery of research in care homes. The ENRICH network comprises over 1,000 organisations across England that deliver RDN Portfolio studies. This includes a mixture of residential and nursing homes, care villages, and some domiciliary care organisations.

By signing up to ENRICH, care homes can hear about research opportunities that can benefit their residents, families, and staff, and they can access free training and develop research skills. Involvement in ENRICH also provides support for research delivery from our Agile Research Delivery Team improving opportunities to take part in studies for everyone.

Homes interested in joining ENRICH can access our Understanding Research In Care Homes training.

Support for researchers

ENRICH supports researchers through the life cycle of a research study. We can provide advice on how to work with care homes and our Care Home Research Advisory Group can support researchers in the design stages of their study. Email our team for more information.

We can connect you with care home staff for expert advice on delivering research in this setting. We can also identify care homes that are interested in getting involved, share ways to encourage uptake and explain how to support care homes once they have chosen to take part.
