Recruitment has now been completed on a major study in which Clinical Research Network Greater Manchester (CRN GM) played a significant part.
A total of 24,048 participants were recruited nationally to the Be on the Team study, also known as MENCAR, surpassing the target of 24,000.
Here in Greater Manchester, three trusts recruited to the study across four waves with a great deal of support from our core team. Together we recruited 5,191.
The final recruitment numbers were:
- Stockport NHS Foundation Trust: 2,864
- Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust: 1,233
- Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust: 1,094
The teams are all now working hard to ensure that participants are retained for follow-up visits and to complete the study.
There will be further follow-up visits taking place in Spring and Autumn this year meaning that all the remaining participants will complete the study by Christmas 2020.
