A senior nurse leader has expressed her desire to support the next generation of nurses and midwives.

Clair Harris and Laura McCabe, CRN South London's Leads for Research Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Professionals (NMAP), recently held an online event to bring together nurses and midwives. Clair said:

"There are many more opportunities for nurses and midwives to develop research careers, and there is great potential to make a difference to patients and communities through nurse and midwife-led research.

"It was a very inspiring session; speakers generously shared their advice. We heard from people at different stages of academic careers and an exciting new advanced practice role in research nursing. I want to say thank you to everyone who attended and spoke.

"A key theme from the talks was the importance of having a supportive network and that the path isn't always smooth, so my advice is to seek help and advice and be prepared for different opportunities that may arise."
