Three-year-old Mia Fettes from Wem is celebrating after winning a Christmas card competition run by the West Midlands Regional Research Delivery Network (RRDN).
Her winning design will be featured on cards sent to the 94 members of the RRDN’s Schools Research Network in the region.
All the schools in the Network were invited to submit designs by their pupils, and Mia’s Christmassy picture was judged to be the best entry, winning a £50 voucher for herself and a £100 one for her school.
Headteacher of St Peter’s CE Primary and Nursery School in Wem Sarah Kynaston said: "The children loved creating their designs for the Christmas card competition. To get the news that we had a winner made our week! Sam took the time to come and present the prizes as well which was just lovely. Mia will make good use of her prize, and the voucher for school is going to purchase some lovely new books for Nursery. Thank you! We look forward to working with you all in the future."
Samantha Russell, Research Facilitator with the Network (pictured with Mia), said: “We had 162 entries to our competition, which was fantastic - our aim is to spread the word about research to schools in the region, so we were thrilled that so many children got involved.”
