A senior nurse has hailed the creation of CRN South London’s direct delivery team as a game-changer in promoting research outside the NHS.

The direct delivery team was established last year to increase the opportunities for people to take part in health and social care research in non-NHS settings such as schools, prisons, care homes, etc.

CRN South London’s Research Matron, Cherylin Reinholtz, who oversees the work of the direct delivery team, said:

“I am so proud to work with such dedicated, enthusiastic, and committed colleagues who are so passionate about giving patients, carers and members of the public the opportunity to take part in vital NIHR-supported research in schools, care homes and other settings outside of the NHS. The team's work will be a real game-changer in helping advance medicine and care for everyone.

“It has been an absolute whirlwind of a year since the team was created. Our presence grows all the time within our local communities. We will continue to strive to make research even more accessible in 2023 to help reduce health inequalities and lessen the impact of diseases.

“I’d like to say a big thank you to the team for everything they do to support local researchers and improve the lives of south Londoners through research. I can't wait to see what we achieve together this year!”
