Study finds high dose vitamin C 'ineffective' but statin beneficial in treating COVID-19

REMAP-CAP, the world's largest study of multiple treatments for critically ill adults with COVID-19 has revealed that high-dose intravenous vitamin C infusions did not improve outcomes for hospitalised participants. 

Simvastatin, a drug used to treat people with high cholesterol, was also found to have a high probability (96%) of improving outcomes for critically ill patients with COVID-19.

A total of 5,798 participants were recruited in the UK, including 183 participants in Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.
