A talk about the history of diabetes research by NIHR-supported clinicians is now available to watch online.
Click the video below to watch the talk from Professor Katharine Owen, a consultant in diabetes at Oxford’s Churchill Hospital and Dr Rachel Besser, a consultant in paediatric diabetes at Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital.
It explores how science has transformed what was once a rapidly fatal illness to a managed condition, from drugs to patches that deliver insulin via handheld devices.
The talk was part of the IF Oxford: The Oxford Science and Ideas Festival, held in October.
